Family Stays: A New Look, Rooted in What Matters Most

When a child needs specialized medical care, that location may not be nearby. For many Idaho families, that distance can be a barrier to care — one that Ronald McDonald House Idaho and St. Luke’s are working together to close.
New look. Same heart.

Families are at the heart of everything we do. Ronald McDonald House Idaho is introducing a refreshed brand identity that reflects this and the role we play in supporting families when their child is ill or injured. While our look is new, our mission remains the same: to provide essential services that remove barriers to care, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

At the center of our new logo is a heart, a reminder that families belong at the heart of care. Our new tagline, “Family Stays,” captures what we see every day: when a child needs medical care, families do whatever it takes to stay close. Ronald McDonald House Idaho gives families a place to stay and helps families stay together and involved in that care.

For Madison and Brayden Burton of Twin Falls, staying close to their son, Ezekiel, meant everything. When Zeke spent 262 days in the NICU, his parents stayed at Ronald McDonald House: Boise, just across the street from their son’s care.

“The House became our lifeline,” Madison said. “Being literally across the street from Zeke changed everything. Without it, I don’t know where we would have stayed, how we would have afforded it, or how we would have kept our strength.”

The Burton family’s experience is what “Family Stays” means to us. It means families can remain together, involved in their child’s care, and supported during an incredibly difficult time.

Through our 48-bedroom Ronald McDonald House: Boise and our four-bedroom Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, families have access to a place to stay, meals, and a community of support, all close to their child’s medical care. No family is turned away because they cannot afford to stay.

In 2025, Ronald McDonald House Idaho served more than 2,400 families and provided more than 9,300 nights of lodging. Our support also reaches thousands of other families at the hospital through Ronald McDonald House Hospitality Carts. A program that bring snacks, drinks, and activities directly to children and families at Saint Alphonsus and St. Luke’s in Boise, and St. Luke’s Magic Valley.

As Idaho continues to grow, more families may find themselves traveling farther from home to access care for their children. Ronald McDonald House Idaho is committed to being part of their support system, helping families stay close, connected, and together when it matters most.

“Our new logo is a visual reminder of what has always been true, families are at the heart of everything we do,” said Executive Director Nancee Bakken. “While our look may be new, our commitment remains the same.”

The brand may be new. Our promise to families is not. Family Stays, we stay with them.
